Job Title: Senior Client Service Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY
The Client Service Consultant serves as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of WealthEngine clients. The consultant is responsible for managing project timelines and deliverables, as well as providing implementation recommendations, facilitating decision-making and providing strategic fundraising and prospect research/management advice. As part of the Analytics and Consulting team, the consultant will contribute to thought leadership efforts including white papers and conference presentations, and will also contribute to product development initiatives.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES·
- Provide on-site and off-site training and consulting services to a portfolio of clients
- Identify client objectives, strengths and challenges, and design strategies and implementation recommendations to optimize client value from WealthEngine products and services
- Identify opportunities for new products and services to meet needs in the marketplace
- Provide thought leadership in the fundraising and prospect research fields by contributing to best practice reports, white papers, professional conferences and webinar workshops
- Work closely with sales team to facilitate renewals, up sells and new sales
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in a non-profit fundraising environment, either in prospect research, prospect management or front-line fundraising
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, long-term relationships
- Ability to think analytically and structure solutions based on analysis
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of time
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge or familiarity with WealthEngine products and services
- Experience in annual fund and/or direct mail fundraising

Prospect Research Analyst
The WFBH prospect research office is counted among the most advanced prospect research departments in the country, maintaining comprehensive resources and ongoing training programs. The prospect research analyst 1) prepares research profiles for Development Officers and senior Medical Center leadership; 2) helps maintain the prospect tracking system; 3) identifies new prospects; 4) assists with data-intensive projects (e.g., wealth screenings).
The Prospect Research Analyst reports to the Director of Prospect Research/Prospect Management in the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs. Director, Prospect Research, Management and Analytics

Occupational Summary
Direct the activities of the Prospect Research, Management and Analytics (PRMA) team to identify and evaluate prospects, provide research reports and briefings, lead the prospect management system, and provide business intelligence to the campus-wide fundraising organization, in support of Duke University's development and campaign efforts. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Major Gifts Programs and Special Initiatives.
Work Performed
Manage a staff of twelve, organized into four functional areas: research, prospect management, analytics and leadership briefings. Direct various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the Director of PRMA will serve as a key leader in the ongoing development and implementation of a new alumni and development database, based on SAP Client Relationship Management system in the process of being adapted to a development environment.
Ensure the PRMA team and senior management are aware of new analytic tools that can help add to, monitor and report on the prospect pool and performance. Partner with department based data analysis staff to leverage business intelligence for all areas of University Development and Duke development teams campus-wide.
Serve on the Assistant Vice President’s leadership team that also includes the Director of Major Gifts and the Director of Administration and Operations.
Develop a strategic partnership with Information Technology (IT) to develop new tools and reports that serve prospect and business intelligence needs. Design and develop studies and reports, using research and screening tools, on Duke University prospect constituencies, including analysis of potential for giving of various alumni for key projects.
Build peer institution relationships to discuss best practices in the field.
Support senior management in the preparation for and implementation of a comprehensive multi-billion dollar campaign, such as campaign gift pyramids, prospect screening tools, reports for campaign volunteer leadership and trustees, and campaign peer screening tools. Working with the Campaign Office, assist in the development and implementation of campaign progress reports.
Supervise the work of a comprehensive prospect research program, headed by the Assistant Director of Research, to whom four Senior Research Analysts report. Manage the collection, analysis, interpretation and documentation of information on individuals, corporations and foundations, utilizing state of the art resources including web based searches, proprietary databases, contracted screening and data mining resources, electronic databases and other sources as appropriate. Oversee the identification of new prospects and their inclusion in Discovery Pools to make the best prospects available to fundraisers campus wide.
Work closely with University Development leadership and the prospect management staff of two to continue to develop and administer the university-wide prospect management system. Develop and implement a plan to institute the Prospect
Management Executive Committee.
Oversee the preparation for and implementation of monthly Prospect Management Committee meetings. Produce reports on activity on the major gifts prospect pipeline university-wide. Oversee the management of prospect team requests and assignments. Continue to refine team-based prospect management protocols and strategy development to help insure that Duke fundraisers are effectively engaging with top prospects. Provide portfolio review services to fundraisers. Oversee training of gift officers campus-wide in prospect management protocols. Direct the building of strong strategic partnerships with development colleagues across the university.
Work with an analytics team of two to analyze prospect and donor constituencies and forecast their behavior through data benchmarking, modeling and analytics. Develop and produce analyses and reports on fundraising history and current performance, prospect pool status, and other business intelligence used to inform the strategic management of fundraising operations campus-wide.
Working with the Assistant Vice Presidents for Principal Gifts, Major Gifts Programs, and Arts & Sciences and Undergraduate programs, oversee two professionals in the production of presidential, dean and other leadership briefings. Assist in the development and articulation of comprehensive prospect strategies for top prospects working with key academic leadership.
Assist with PRMA program services for principal gifts prospects. Produce a wide set of biographical reports for presidential, provostial and other leadership events.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
